In Brasília-DF, Brazil, the Dance Day is being organized by "Mexa-se! Brasília tem Dança!". This is a movement formed by more than 7,000 members - dancers, choreographers, teachers, company directors, photographers, and whoever loves to dance or to watch dance performances.

Our event, also called "Mexa-se! Brasília tem Dança!" will be held at the Chamber of Deputies of the DF, on April 29th. During the event, there will be a variety of performances, - created by dance artists from different aesthetics - video exhibitions, and speechs about Dance.

We aim at addressing a major public, and we hope we succeed in such objective, as the event will be held at a place where dance presentations are not usually staged - the Chamber of Deputies (our parliament) - and where there is many people working. Besides, we also expect to encourage  discussions concerning certain issues of the Dance in Brasília, for the media and local politians will take part in Brasília Dance Day.

It is worth mentioning that last year we have attracted support from national and international renowned dancers, such as Thiago Soares (Royal Ballet), Cecília Kerche, Ana Botafogo (both important Brazilian dancers), and Bianca Assad, (ballerina who was born in Brasília and now is the principal dancer in the Cosi-Stefanuscu Ballet Company).
