I hereby forward to you my announcement in regards to the forthcoming UNESCO's International Dance Day.
First and foremost, due to unforseen practical circumstances, I cannot hold the Dance Day celebrations on the official day, 29th April, practically, but we will be holding celebrations on the 30th April.
However, we have decided to use the 29th April as a day of meeting, discussing, dance video screening and preparing for the practical celebrations the next day.
I do hope celebrating one day later will not be an off-call gesture.
Herewith an outline of our Dance Day celebrations:
April 29th - a gathering dance students, family and friends to talk, put up paper cuttings and personal writings (poems or statements) that relate to dance in all forms, prepare a final programme for the next day and show some short dance videos
This joint effort will start at approximately 15h00. (we have scheduled a 4 hour plan for this day, but we may exceed that)
Venue will be Ecole de Danse Nicole Aimont, Parc des Expositions. B - 6700 ARLON. Belgium
April 30th - I will be guiding an open-door dance exploration, with a focus on African Dance, starting at 19h30 (an estimated 2 hours has been planned but we may exceed this)
Venue:
(weather conditions permitting) the celebrations will be held outdoors (car park area) of the Ecole de Danse Nicole Aimont, Parc des Expositions. B - 6700 ARLON. Belgium, but if the weather conditions are not in our favour, we will celebrating indoors in one of the dance studios at the same above-mentioned address.
We will celebrate under the title - "THE SPIRIT OF TOGETHERNESS, FREE TO MOVE FOR YOURSELF"
Organizer:
I, Tebby W.T. Ramasike, will be organizing this part of Dance Day celebrations, under the flagship of TeBogO Dance - TBO in agreement with Ecole de Danse Nicole Aimont.
Participants:
will include dance students, their family members, friends and everybody who is interested in dance. This programme will focus on the general public and all age groups from different walks of life.
Description:
The programme will take a form of an open-door dance course. Participants can come and go as they want. We will dance collectively as a group, giving a chance to openness and freeing the dancing soul into embracing the world of dance with passion. The focus will not be to free the soul but also to bring awareness to the general public that dance is not only for those who sty-udy dance and/or dancers, but dance is a social structure that brings people together, it is a common language we all share and can share and we can all enjoy together in one spirit! Participation is mostly FREE but people may make a contribution to a maximum amount of 10 Euros. (Although payment is not obligatory).

We hope these will be two colourful and sucessful days in our celebrations, as it will be the very first I organize this in this region.
I trust the above-mentioned is in accordance with the guidelines of UNESCO's International Dance Day.
Sincerely yours,
Tebby W.T. RAMASIKE
