Dance and Music is an integral part of Bollywood movies. In the beginning of Bollywood history, dance choreography was mainly influenced by traditional Indian Classical dance styles like Kathak and BharataNatyam and regional folk dances. The highlight of Bollywood movies are elaborate dance sequences and original soundtracks. Over the years, Bollywood movies have developed their own signature style of song and dance. Bollywood music includes Carnatic and Hindustani Sangeet as well as pop, folk and contemporary music. The Evolution of Bollywood Dance is a process that is entirely Indian and yet cross-cultural at the same time.
